Happier Tails Rescue

happier tails rescue Inc. an all breed, all love rescue dogs for adoption

adopt with us

We work incredibly hard to find our dogs their perfect homes. To ensure all tales end happily, we have put some guidelines in place to give each new family their best chance...

Our adoption process begins with an application, which you can find within each dog's profile. Once you have completed your application, a representative from Happier Tails will reach out to you, to inform you that your application has been chosen (this process may take up to 2 weeks). After your application is chosen, we will then proceed to a home check and additional screening. Your application will then be completed and a representative will contact you with the good news to arrange a pick up and to finalize the adoption. We offer finalizing of adoptions with digital online forms and online payment.

Please Note:  Adopters MUST be at least 25 years old.  Due to county regulations, we cannot adopt to households who are already at their legal limit; Orange County 3 dogs, LA County 4 dogs.

Adoption Fee: Our adoption fee includes spay & neuter, microchip, all vaccinations and medical records. Fees vary based on a dog's age.

HTR Adoption Policies

Foster- to-Adopt

We realize that adopting a dog is a huge commitment and our goal is for every adoption to be forever. To help make the right decision when adopting a dog,  HTR offers a foster to adopt (FTA) program. FTA means that a potential adopter can bring a dog home for a one week trial, to see if the dog is a good fit in their home. There is a $40 non-refundable deposit required for the FTA (if the decision is made to adopt, then the $40 is applied towards the adoption fee).

We do not adopt sibling puppies to the same family. Research has shown that littermate syndrome  can lead to unhealthy bonding and aggression later in the pup's lives.  If you would like to adopt more than one puppy, you may do so, but they must be from different litters.

Bonded Pairs:

Occasionally, we will rescue two dogs that are determined to be bonded, and cannot be adopted separately. These dogs must be adopted together. No exceptions will be made.

Help us help them
